Guy Forsyth is an American Texas Blues and Blues-Rock singer, guitarist, harmonicist and songwriter.  As Traci Ferguson, talent buyer for Historic Gruene Hall has said, "Guy Forsyth is simply one of the best performing musicians around."

He is just as comfortable performing solo as he is leading a full 5-piece band.  Depending on the requested genre or sound that will best suit your event, venue or festival, he will gather together some of Austin's finest sidemen .  He also is a highly sought after Master Class clinician.

He regularly tours both in the United States and Europe, and has opened for Ray Charles, Robert Cray, Dr. John, B.B. King, Jimmie Vaughan, and Lucinda Williams. His most recent release was The Pleaser (2015).  In early 2018, he and The Hot Nut Riveters will release their newest CD.

Forsyth's repertoire primarily incorporates elements of Blues and Americana traditions, with traces of Rock, R&B, Folk, Jazz and Pop. As a songwriter, many of his albums contain his own work, as well as songs co-composed with other musicians. Forsyth has won several Austin Music Awards, including "Best Male Vocalist" in 2005.

His current line for Traditional Jazz Swing Blues is a Trio/Quartet called 78 Speical. 78 Special embraces authenticity over industry trends, avoiding AI and electronic effects. Their music features traditional instruments like resonator guitars, banjos, and musical saws, reflecting a DIY spirit reminiscent of punk rock. Their sound blends influences from blues, jazz, fiddle tunes, and more, ringing like a nine-pound hammer! It  features both Weston Bourghesi and Will Webster.
